About Jonky Dawson

Jonky Dawson is an American entrepreneur, photographer, publisher, and cultural storyteller who has spent more than a decade living and working in Thailand.

Throughout his career, Jonky has pursued a wide range of creative and entrepreneurial ventures that connect people, culture, travel, and storytelling.

He is the founder of Suuai Magazine, a visual publication highlighting food, culture, events, and lifestyle across Thailand. The publication has grown to reach over one million readers worldwide and has become a recognized source for discovering the people, places, and experiences that make Thailand unique.

Jonky is also the founder of Ever Open Door, a food and lifestyle platform showcasing restaurants, chefs, and local culture through photography and storytelling.

His work spans multiple disciplines including:

  • Publishing and magazine creation
  • Website and app development
  • Photography and visual storytelling
  • Tourism and hospitality promotion
  • International teaching and education
  • Event hosting and media production

Jonky has served as President of Skål Northern Thailand, an international tourism organization that connects leaders across the travel and hospitality industries.

He has also contributed to the community through education and service, including teaching in several countries and serving as an English examiner for Thailand’s Medical Board.

As a photographer, Jonky has documented events, culture, and personalities across Thailand, including work connected with Miss Thailand competitions and numerous international events.

Beyond media and entrepreneurship, Jonky is passionate about building bridges between cultures and sharing the opportunities available to those willing to explore the world beyond their comfort zone.

He currently lives in Thailand, where he continues to create new projects involving travel, culture, storytelling, and international living.
